"Balls" Durango was a console that was developed by "Balls".

History Edit

Durango began production in 1999, when "Balls" decided to develop their own console without the Greeny Arcade Development Team joining them. "Balls" Durango was shown rarely at E3 2000 and E3 2001, despite the console lacking buttons in the prototype. The reason why "Balls" Durango was shown rarely is because that the console was too expensive to make, and there weren't that many developers. "Balls" intended to advertise the game to bring in the big bucks, though the commercials for the console was cheaper. Since the console lacked launch games, "Balls" tried to make launch titles for "Balls" Durango, but it was too late making their video games a launch title (Most of the video games started production after E3 2001).

"Balls" Durango was originally suppose to release the game on March 8, but it was delayed 6 months later because there were no launch titles for "Balls" Durango yet. The console was released on September 8, 2001 in North America, November 29, 2001 in Japan, and May 7, 2002 in Europe. It sold 500,000 units on it's opening week, and it was given good reviews. However, there was one big problem "Balls" tried to keep "Balls" Durango living, TPS (Third Party Support). All of the games for "Balls" Durango were developed by "Balls". And despite poor sales and lack of video games, "Balls" Durango was discontinued in 2003 and became a failure. There were only 29 games that were released for the console, 3 of them being launch titles.

Originally, "Balls" Neo was suppose to be the successor to "Balls" Durango and "Balls" Online being the online service to gamers, but they were cancelled quickly in 2002.
