Transcript |
Pilot Pitch was the original unaired pilot of Greeny Phatom.
This episode was originally aired once, as a "sneak peek" for the show on Fox Kids Network. The only known recording of the episode was made by a fan, and ends before the scene with Little Girl and Little Guy.
In 2005, the original master copy of this was located by James Clayton, the show's then-executive producer. The episode has since been included as a bonus feature on many of the DVD's and has been rerunned on The Greeny Channel and The Greeny Channel XD.
Oddly, unlike the episode after it, this doesn't actually exist, not even on youtube. this is one of the few episodes that's non canon AND unofficial. However, there is a possible actual pilot of the series known as "To Normal Or Not To Normal". more can be found on its page (currently it does not exist)
Synopsis[]
Little Guy takes Little Girl to a hotel and resort called La Hotela.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Little Guy, walking around his house. Little Guy is bored, wanting to do something cool and fun. He decides to go outside. Little Guy walks outside and the camera zooms out to show 123 Greeny Phatom. The camera then pans to show Little Guy, who is walking until he sees Little Girl, walking with a red balloon. She sees Little Guy and smiles at him, causing him to faint. Soon, Dr. Beanson found him and woke him up. The two talk about their lives and head to Dr. Beanson's house. Dr. Beanson learns about Little Guy's problem and he thinks that it is fancy talk, and that he needs to be fancy by putting his pinky out. The next day, Little Guy calls Little Girl, asking her if he can take her to a hotel and resort called La Hotela. She agrees to it, puts on a fancy blue dress and waits for her. Little Guy, in a toxedo, comes to her via taxi and the two drive off to La Hotela as the episode fades out.
The episode cuts to a sequence, titled Sing Along Sattacith Doctor, where Dr. sings a song about moths. Gree Guy, in a moth costume, tries to stop the song, but crashing into a tree and is attacked by a woodpecker.
The episode returns with the taxi putting up to La Hotela. The two get out and are greeted by Geo Guy, who works at the place. The couple order some soup. However, due the soup being to hot, Little Guy throws it, causing it to spill onto Little Girl's dress.
Production[]
This episode was fully traditionally animated, unlike the rest of the series, and was animated by the crew with assistance of students and teachers at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prismacolor alcohol-based permanent art markers, Crayola markers, and Sharpies along with a pen were used to make the drawings. The final animation was done by animator Flammarion Ferreira.
