Kick & Gunther: Rainbow Rocks is an American 2015 flash-animated comedy parody film and a rip-off crossover between Kick Buttowski: Saburban Daredevil and My Little Pony Equestria Girls. It was produced by Geo Media in association with Hasbro Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. This is the first film to be produced by Geo Media and also Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer's first animated film and also Paramount Animation's first film to be animated in Flash.

It's sequel Kick & Gunther: Ultimate Jam will be released theatrically in 2018.

The film takes place after My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Rainbow Rocks.

Production[]

The film was in production in December 21, 2014 to July 7, 2015. The film would used the screenplay from 1995's Toy Story. Kick and his friends were originally going to be teenagers, but Chris doesn't like it. He decided to keep Kick and his friends into kids. Charlie Schlatter can't voice Kick anymore, so Jeremy Shada voiced him with his Finn voice. On, April 30, 2015, the film was pushed to November 13, 2015 to avoid competition with another film to be released. On the same day, Geo Media announced to make feature films based on Hasbro properties.


It also features a scene where Kick and Clyde got lost after they get left in the car.


On July 21, 2015, Geo Media has decided that the film will have a direct-to-DVD release in the United States on November 13, 2015 while it is set for a theatrical release outside the United States by Disney.

Geo Media decided to edit the film with some changes

  • Kick saying "crap" is replaced with "crud"
  • Clyde saying "Bronies are people too!" is replaced with "Ponies are people, dude!"
  • Mild language is change into kiddie-friendly language due to Disney's family rule
  • The song "S-T-R-Awberry" was replaced by "Kick Buttowski's Song of Awesomeness" this was used in the end credits. 
  • Despite the US Paramount Pictures release, The 2011 version of the 2006 Disney logo was used at the end.

Geo Media announces for a new TV series entitled Kick & Gunther: Rainboom Dudes. It will air on Nickelodeon.


Geo Media decides on November 14, 2015, Kick & Gunther: Ultimate Jam will be produced by Geo Media and Hasbro Studios, but it will also be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film will be released theatrically on July 13, 2018 by Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
